Healthy food doesn’t have to be boring


Some people think that healthy food is boing. They may have had a substandard salad or low fat cake at some point that tasted awful and therefore have the misconception that that is how all healthy foods taste.

Making a salad should take as much time as making a meal. You can of course just throw some lettuce, tomato and cucumber in to a bowl but why not take a little more time and give it that extra flavour that many salads lack. Adding cashew nuts to a salad will give it a bit of crunch without taking away the healthy aspect. Also you can make a lovely dressing from balsamic vinegar and olive oil that will bring it altogether. I often add feta cheese to my salads along with peppers, sun-dried tomatoes and I always use a variety of leaves such as rocket, spinach and watercress to add texture and more flavours.
